In the last few weeks, several top BNP leaders have made the following statements about Bangladesh Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus and his king’s party, the National Citizen Party (NCP), as tensions have risen over reforms and the election timeline.
-The old man from Sindabad is sitting on the neck. He must be shaken down.
-The Yunus government is like a barren woman. It can make empty promises but cannot deliver anything.
-Advisory council’s statement unclear, misleading.
-Yunus will die but will not resign.
-Yunus is faking resignation to cover up his misdeeds and failures.
-If he resigns, the nation will find a new alternative.
-The country’s independence and sovereignty are not safe in the hands of Yunus.
-We (BNP) have fallen from the mouth of a dog to the mouth of a tiger.
-They are money launderers.
-This government has failed successfully.
-Mahfuj (Alam) is the name of a sanda, Asif (Mahmud) is the name of a frog.
-If the government had the slightest shame, it would have given a roadmap for the elections.
-It is hard to believe that there will be fair elections under Yunus.
-Yunus is uniting fundamentalists to stay in power.
-Yunus is not worried about his respect. Why should we respect him?
-NCP will be swept away if the BNP activists urinate.
