Yunus may take revenge as he gets a bashing by the Army Chief

After the August 5 changeover, President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman became the two most important people in Bangladesh.

They find themselves at the critical juncture between life and death.

As the days go by, the dynamics of Bangladeshi politics are changing. As politics takes turns, threats to their lives are increasing.

President Mohammed Shahabuddin with the chiefs of the three forces

The duo are the last symbol of independent and sovereign Bangladesh. As long as they are in office, the Constitution of Bangladesh is in force because both these positions are constitutional.

I have thought about the lives of these two people after August 5 many times because both of them were appointed during Sheikh Hasina’s time.

The mob terrorists, who have been patronized by the interim government, can do any damage at any time. If at least one of them can be eliminated, their wish will be fulfilled. Their main target was Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana. But they failed. The next target was the President. They tried but failed.

Basically, the President could not be removed because of the Army Chief. As far as is known, they remain in power through mutual understanding. Because if one of the two falls, the other will also fall or be thrown away. Bangladesh, which was achieved with the blood of 3 million martyrs, will be ruined.

The Army Chief has visited two foreign countries. During the last visit to Russia, I thought that Yunus might dismiss him when he is abroad.

The matter has come to my mind several times. But for some unknown reason, it did not go that way. It seems to me that Yunus’ thugs have underestimated the Army Chief. They assumed that the Army Chief is harmless…Waker is stupid because General Waker did not take any steps despite the threats of the terrorists like Hasnat Abdullah and Asaduzzaman Fuad.

Yunus did not fathom the power of Army Chief Waker until Tuesday, when he and his national security adviser Khalilur Rahman and foreign adviser Touhid Hossain sat with the chiefs of the three forces.

He tried his best to convince Waker about the so-called humanitarian corridor. Pressure was exerted from various domestic and foreign sources. But the Army Chief was adamant in his decision.

On the contrary, Waker on Wednesday announced his decision not to allow the corridor while addressing the Special Durbar. He also reiterated that elections must be held by December.

Immediately after the Army Chief’s decision, Khalil organized a press conference to declare that the government wasn’t working on the corridor while giving a new definition of the corridor. He claimed that a corridor means transporting/rescuing people from one area to another. He said what they are trying to do is facilitate humanitarian aid supplies using the Bangladesh border with Myanmar via the United Nations.

If Yunus had sensed this fiery image of the army chief in his mind, he would have removed Waker while he was in Russia and installed his own puppet army chief and taken many anti-national decisions quickly. But he failed.

After Army Chief Waker’s speech, the two paths have become final. Yunus’s army of thugs will not easily accept this shameful defeat. Yunus is fuming with anger.

Now, General Waker is the biggest thorn in the Yunus army’s meticulous design. Immediately after his address, domestic and foreign enemies became active. Now, pressure may come from the United Nations to convince the Army Chief. Threats may come. Pressure may mean sanctions/blockade.

In July, the UN threatened to bar Bangladesh from joining the peacekeeping missions to hasten the fall of the Awami League government. Now the same threat may come again. There may be a ban on important army officials, including the army chief, travelling abroad.

There is also the possibility of assassination. That is, to kill him by staging a coup. They can also draw a blueprint to dismiss the army chief by forcing the President to sign the order.

The Yunus gang has been working on a specific task: to liberate Rakhine State, destabilize South Asia and wipe Bangladesh off the map.

Since Yunus is desperate for revenge, ensuring the impeccable security of the army chief and the President is of utmost importance at this time.
